Tess of the d'Urbervilles, 1998 film

Tess of the d'Urbervilles is a 1998 film adaptation of Thomas Hardy's novel under the same name. A free-spirited yet naive country girl Tess is caught between her wealthy, manipulative "cousin" Alec and the handsome, educated farmer Angel Clare. Adapted by Ted Whitehead and directed by Ian Sharp, the film stars Justine Waddell as Tess, Jason Flemyng as Alec, and Oliver Milburn as Angel Clare.
